I don’t plan on posting much more in this blog. It was a fun project for a little while but it is taking up a lot of time and effort for little gain. I’ll be focusing more on illustration, as I’ve started a new doodle blog called Drawn Diary! I’ll keep these existing posts open for whoever fancies having a browse. Who knows, maybe I’ll reignite this when I have more time!
A lazy Sunday afternoon round my boyfriend’s place was a great excuse to whip out the Japanese candy making kit I received from Amazon. I briefly mentioned before that through a local survey, I was paid a £5 Amazon gift voucher to answer questions about my town. The kit was £7 in total and really fun!
It was very easy to use! You have to squirt water into each section and fill with particular sachets. We accidentally put too much water into our ‘tasty egg’ and ‘tuna’ so they went rather slushy! Our favourite part was making the individual jellies and scooping them out! Everything was grape flavored and my boyfriend wasn’t a big fan of the taste!
We mashed up the ‘sushi rice’ into tiny balls. It advised you to mold them a lot smaller than I thought. We then stretched the black ‘suchi nori’ to wrap around (which was the tastiest and stickiest part!) it felt like plasticine!
After much scooping, molding and wrapping we made these masterpieces! So what was the verdict for taste?…
…BLEH! It was more the texture than the flavour which was odd! I really enjoyed the process of making compared to eating them! I would love to try the Hamburger kit next, apparently it is very meaty!
I’ve already made a video documenting my birthday pressie collection, but I felt like doing an article about what I got up to! Far more than I expected. My boyfriend made me and my family a bacon pancake feast, then I adventured in the tree tops at Go Ape, received some amazing surprises and had an awesome party with many friends I haven’t seen for a long time. I woke up on Saturday 1st June to a table full of treats! I worked my way through to find many goodies which you can see in my birthday video! My biggest present was that my holiday has been completely paid for!
I eagerly awaited my friend to pick us up for Woburn Safari park. I waited…and waited…until finally he JUST made it! We were late but it worked out brilliantly as we were allowed to head into the animal park for 40 minutes before moving into the next slot!
I was terrified! It’s a lot higher than it looks! We climbed, zip wired and overcame obstacles. I completely freaked out on this tube part where you had to go on all fours in mid air O_O but I loved the final zip wire which unexpectedly dropped!
Afterwards we needed a well-deserved chilled nostalgia rush before heading home to the pub. Mmm blue flavour! When I returned home, my brothers were waiting for me on skype. I assumed this was just to send their birthday wishes. My Mum got the camera out, fixed on me as they sent over THIS LINK!
I’m going to Creamfields!!! I screamed down the computer as this is a huge present. Creamfields is an electronic music festival and I’m heading there with my brothers this August! I’m most excited about seeing The Prodigy! I quickly rushed around to get ready for pub time after this bombshell and was off again. I thought that after my stakey-wakey and cocktails with friends that this would be it until my party the following weekend…I was wrong…I opened my laptop mid week to find this…
Inside a leaflet were instructions for a website called Text Adventures. My friend had created an entire game!
After much digging around I found a key, unlocked the mystical shed and was faced with an essay describing the immenseness of the whole thing. At the bottom I read this line…
So I rushed upstairs to find a TREASURE CHEST under my bed! I love the snorlax detail!
The following weekend was my big party! Many friends from far and wide came for a dance and a catch up. We made Betty Crocker Powerpuff Girls cupcakes and Kinder Bueno brownies <3
I had a lovely birthday and I hope to post a boot fair review soon! <3
